In 2012 I moved into a new apartment in NYC and was tired of my cheap knives. I cook a lot so good knives was a priority. I had used the cutting knife at a friends home and liked the design, how it felt in the hand, and its performance, so I looked at these sets. I was initially worried after reading numerous reviews saying that the knives rusted, but decided to get them any way. I have now had them going on 7 years and no rust problems at all and they are still an excellent knife set. So much so that when I needed a knife set this year for our 2nd home, I purchased the identical set again and am still happy with them. Exceedingly so.

Was sent the recalled set. If the serial numbers on the knifes are first 3 digits are 086 and the last is 2 ar 16 or less you have a knife that has been recalled go the the calphalon web site to return them for a replacment. The set also had rust stains and chipped blades. From the serial number on the knifes this set was made in 2014.

Nice quality knives. Great price. It's definitely worth spending a little extra on some decent knives. We have had the cheap $20 retail store knife block... They didn't last long at all. These knives are beautiful, sharp out of the box and durable. Easy to clean too.

I fell in love with these knives because I used them everyday at the house I nanny at. I wanted them so bad and got them for a steal of $90! We opened them up and tried them on a fresh tomatoe and it cut it perfectly! The only downfall of the block is that there are 2 empty slots so you have to buy more to fill them! Bummer!!! They are heavy, sturdy and super sharp!!! Great buy!
