I have only used it for a few hours to check it out and measure the house loads. I have it connected via an EMERGEN transfer switch and use the 240 VAC output from the generator. I also have no trouble with the 115 VAC outlets to run an extra light in the garage and garage door openers.
Some nice features:
The wheels are moved a little more toward the middle of the unit so it is easier to pick up and move even though it is a few pounds heavier than the old unit
Electric start worked flawlessly and is much easier or my old back than pull start. Easy to start with pull starter also.
Folding handle makes it easier to store in a smaller space.
Controls are clear and easy to use with a neat led display panel that shows voltage, frequency, and run times. The control area is illuminated with a small led light.
The unit had no trouble running a total load of two furnaces at full blower speed, fridge, 2 TVs, and some lights upstairs and downstairs in a large home. Also two lapotops, cable modem, router and NAS backup drives. The start up surge from the furnaces did not seem to faze the unit at all and the engine did not seem to change speed or sound.
Overall build quality seems good .
It also has a 7.9 gallon tank which is 58% bigger than the Generac unit. The longer run time means I should be able to run over night without having to re-fill the tank in middle of the night.
I am very satisfied with the unit so far and the price on Amazon was very low at the time I bought. I bought the CA, CARB version as it was listed at a lower price. The CARB unit is identical to the all USA unit except that it has a small canister to collect fuel vapor.
