I purchased the product thinking I could go from my RCA output on the back of my TV (older TV) to an HDMI cable to a Roku device.... this DOES NOT WORK.......

I'm sure I'd miss read the description and this little device probably will work converting HDMI to RCA jacks... just make sure your application is correct based on the above.

This did exactly what I was hoping for at a cheap price. I travel a lot and usually bring a fire stick or Roku premier plus with me. Sometimes vacation rentals or hotels outside of the US don’t have TVs with an HDMI port. This worked perfectly to convert a fire stick and Roku premier to an RCA output to connect to older TVs. This past weekend we stayed at a vacation rental with an old tube tv in one bedroom and I used it to hook up the Roku for my kids. I see the old Roku express with composite output is going for ninety dollars right now. Much cheaper to buy a newer Roku and this adapter if you need to connect to an older tv.

I see many negative reviews for people trying use it to convert an analog RCA input to a digital HDMI output. That’s the opposite of what this device is meant for. If you’re looking to convert your hdmi device like Roku or fire stick to RCA, this is what you need. As one reviewer mentioned the wires are much longer than the one in the picture. For me that wasn’t a problem so I did not remove a star but thought it was worth noting in case that’s important to you.

This is a product for HDMI to RCA... not the other way around if you use it correctly is a great product it even transmited sounds from the hdmi on stereo via the RCA that was a surprise... I have a pathfinder with RCA video and I connected my note 10 plus (with a dockstation) and YouTube videos looks great (and stereo) though since my phone has a very hight resolution everything looked tiny on my 7" screen (Samsung desk mode)

My mom was "cutting the cord" (satellite in this case) but had two old-school TVs without HDMI inputs. This HDMI to analog video/audio converter (I sent her two from a different seller) seemed just the ticket to go with the Fire Sticks I also sent her. (She's 1200 miles away.)

Devices arrive and she hooks them up, watching YouTubeTV. It was working great for about 10 minutes, then she said that the picture changed from color to black and white. I suggested she try the other one - possibly some miscommunication as she said the other one didn't work either (but later she admitted that she wasn't sure she had done this test.) In any event, I sent her a third (from this seller), and that one works fine. Afterward, she told me that the bad one ran hot, and I conclude that this made some part of the circuitry go out-of-spec and drop the color.

There are multiple sellers all offering the exact same converter. I give this seller props for telling buyers that a USB power supply is required but not included - the other seller's product page had no mention of this and didn't show the USB cable.

Update: I purchased this to convert a Chromecast digital audio through HDMI to analogue RCA. I realized after purchasing a second converter from a different company that the issue is I was plugging this thing into the phonograph input on my Onkyo AV receiver. The sound was extremely distorted. I'm not sure why that would be an issue but I plugged this into the CD input and now it works fine and comes through clear. Now I can use this to output the audio using the AV receiver to Zone 2 whereas using the HDMI by itself audio only works through Zone 1.

I bought this to convert my Chromecast audio from digital to analog. The end result of this product is it's extremely noisy with lots of distortion. Completely useless.
