I've been in a reading slump The last month or so so I finally decided to read about 3 or 4 books that I have downloaded in my kindle after reading 2 or 3 books that I didn't really enjoy finished just because I was bored I decided to read this after reading fractured freedom about 6 months ago and let me tell you I honestly have nothing negative to say about this book. I loved both characters I felt the chemistry from chapter one between the 2 of them I loved how fierce and raw Izzy was and I loved Cades entire personality. The sex Scenes were phenomenal and honestly makes me want to read more that have the breath play trope. This is a lighter mafia romance then I would normally read but I thoroughly enjoyed it more so than the other dark romances I have been reading lately it was very well written and thought out. I honestly might go back and reread fractured freedom just for the hell* of it and then I also want to read Sebastian story! This book Can be read as I stand alone but I would suggest reading fractured freedom 1st I also love the banter between all of the siblings I almost felt like I was part of the family reading this book .

I have so many mixed feelings about this book. The first half of it I probably would’ve given only two stars. It wasn’t that I didn’t like it; it’s more that I didn’t feel there was enough character development before the two characters jumped into a physical relationship. And it seemed toxic rather than any type of joy or love or anything along those lines. So while I didn’t hate the first part of it, it didn’t resonate with me well.

Then, I got to roughly 70% of the book and things took a right curve. I really hadn’t expected the depth of emotion the story went into, and while I still felt the relationship was more toxic than healthy, I found that I enjoyed the characters quite a bit more during the second half. So, for the second half, I would probably give it a solid 4 to 4 1/2 stars.

With that in mind, then, I finally decided that four stars was a fair ranking for this review. Some people will love this book, others will hate it. So reviewing it and giving it a starred rating may not be fair to the author. Because while there is quite a bit I didn’t like about it, the writing was decent and the character development was a lot stronger in the second half.

Overall, I would say I liked this book; though there are a lot of things about it I wished had been less toxic.

Sooo…I read these out of order, like many others did. I didn’t think it took away from the stories, but I did enjoy some of the cross overs (no spoilers, just character cameos).

So my favorite was Fractured Freedom, but this was a close second. I really liked the story. Hot, nerdy, hackers with a pinch of mafia!

I liked Cade the best of all the Armanellis. He’s hot, kind of nerdy, and very Alpha/possessive. I really liked Izzy too and I thought her character was very well developed, especially after FF. I honestly didn’t think I was going to enjoy her story as much as I did.

Now for the story, I thought it was very good. I liked the pace and development throughout the book. I thought there could have been a little more action in the middle of the book (outside of the bedroom actions 😉), but overall good plot and pacing.

I didn’t like the end. No spoilers, but it just didn’t seem to help the plot or relationship move along, so I didn’t see the point. The ending is an HEA, which I already knew so the last 20% is where I got bored and just pushed to finish. I still found Cade’s banter to be nerdy, funny, and unapologetically hot!

Holy hotness. I believe I’m in love with a fictional book character and his name is Cade. I just finished this book, it was listed on kindle as the first in the series but after reading the blurb from the other one I think kindle and Amazon might have listed them out of order and that I should have read her sisters Story first. That makes me big mad.

Anyways, this book had me in an absolute chokehold. It made me feel all the emotions. The character growth was such a huge process for both of our MC. This book is absolutely in the top 10 I’ve read this year out of the over 500 I have consumed this year. Absolutely loved it. And go in blind. Don’t read any spoilers. Experience it. I will say this book by far has the most phrases I would choose to highlight because Cade has a definite way with words and his actions. His love is BIG, BIGGER…the BIGGEST!

Izzy has issues throughout the story and should spend some more time with her therapist. She exhibits a lack of respect for family, for authority and a lack of respect for herself with her behavior. The relationship between Izzy and Cade is childish, repetitive and became predictable and boring. Two consenting adults should admit their attraction, feelings and either move forward or breakup. The boss and employee confrontations in front of fellow workers seemed illogical, unprofessional and implausible. Such behavior could lead to other employees acting up, talking back and subsequently a total breakdown of team and cohesiveness.
Book is well written and transfixing. The in-depth look at hacking and what can be done by a true professional was enlightening. Cade was able to control, threaten and blackmail people, just to point out a few things he accomplished. He was a true alpha who was smitten with Izzy and protected her from afar long before he approached her.
People with substance abuse issues would probably need trigger warnings.

Love the 🌶️ in this book. Everything is intence.

I start reading Fractured Freedom because of this book, and already I know corrupted chaos my favorite. It captured me immediately and and took me 7 hours to finish it!!!

I loved it cade and izzy are my new fave romance couple up there with hardin and tessa Christian and Anna and Bella and Edward. You may disagree with my faves but we all have our own choices. Cade and izzy had me hooked on every word in these pages. I'm even considering buying the paperback to add to my shelf of favourites. I'd recommend this book to anyone and wouldn't be surprised it was a book of tiktok like den of vipers. Well worth reading if you loved vipers you will love this. 5 stars all the way for me. Fantastic writing and a great story.

I did enjoy this book and couldn't decide whether to give 3 or 4 star.. 3.5 would have been the right amount if it was possible.
Liked Izzy & her special (& hidden) brand of craziness... Cade was one of those odd reclusive, stalker type characters who was somehow still hot.
Didn't like the lack of discussion, boundaries and consent before breath play and other risky sex acts. Also, I don't like the lack of condoms... I'm all for characters (& real people!) enjoying sex with as many partners as they want.. but romance authors should help promote safe sex!
The breath play/choking is not really something I enjoy reading about but if it is going to happen it should at least be discussed beforehand so it is safe and consensual. Some people use romance books as sex education and try to copy what is done... so please don't encourage unsafe sex practices!
Another reason I gave 3 rather than 4 stars is the ridiculous amount of roles on government and important organisations Cade is supposed to have... in the previous books he is portrayed as a hacker who looks after security for his family and suddenly he's head of data security for government and pentagon etc etc!! Daft!

Well this was a wild ride! This book has been all over my for you page on tiktok and now I know why!

Cade Armanelli is a man obsessed. It’s an enemies to lovers romance, but you find out very early on that there’s only hate coming from one side and that’s the side of Izzy Hardy. There was so much angst in this book, it was glorious. There was high drama and some of the spiciest scenes I’ve read!

Izzy is a total badass. Everything she’s gone through has made her so strong! And Cade had me blushing… I’m obsessed! I so enjoyed reading his pov and seeing how he felt about her, and seeing the lengths he’ll go to to protect her!

Enemies to lovers with forced proximity and one bed is one of my favourite combination of tropes, and this book seriously didn’t disappoint! I can see why it’s so popular!
