Awesome for education on the effects of drugs on the body.

This is a very well done series the only thing I wish Amazon would do is make season 1 available.

Unacknowledged addictions in America.

In this Amazon Prime video we see "for free" the video that shows how heroin posseses a persons body and soul. The next programs in the series, "high on cocaine" and "high on meth" shows how Amazon and other retail sellers are addicted to money. We are all the fisherman or the catch. What is the difference between Amazon and the herion dealer? Nothing, they are the same. Who is selling this ugly thing we call greed? The federal reserve prints the money and the government distributes it. Next time you take an interest in the herion addict, take a moment to realize what you are addicted to. Breathing, hunger, sex, fear, hope, money. And which of these has caused the human being the most harm? You know the answer.

National Geographic's DRUGGED- Season 2- High On Heroin - with Schuyler:

I liked this documentary very much and found it to be quite close to reality,
by accurately depicting what one addicted person and his mother experienced.
The brain disease of chemical dependency is no joke, that's for sure.

I thought that his doctor did not seem like he really knew how Schuyler felt at all.
I believe that if they would have kept Schuyler on Suboxone,
instead of taking him off of it when he went into rehab,
he would have had a much better chance of NOT relapsing.
However, this is only my personal, experienced, non-medical opinion.

Good luck to anyone who may be reading this who is either
struggling with -or cares for someone with - an addiction.

Thanks for letting me share.

Does NOT glamourize drinking.

Showed this to high school juniors and seniors. It was sometimes disgusting (and always sad) enough to send the message I was hoping they would get. I wanted the kids to see the ugly side of drinking too much. Some of the current docs out there on drinking or drug abuse spend too much time showing use or talking about why they use...I don't want any of that really pushed. I haven't watched this in a while, but every time I see his face, it just makes me sad. Definitely a moving doc...

Excellent series. If you have a family member addicted to alcohol, it will help you understand both sides of the addiction.

I always thought alcoholics could quit cold turkey. This film will show why this is dangerous and how they can go into shock or a sezure without medical assistance to withdraw from alcohol. The body and the mind become dependant to alcohol just like herion does to a herion addict. It was educational, enlightenling, dramatic and sad. There is hope for all who try to kick the habit as long as they do not wait too late. Your organs can only suffer so much abuse before they die. And when your organs die, you die. too.

No menu/episode selection?
Verified purchase
There is no DVD menu so if you want to "skip" to the next episode you have to fast forward through every scene of every episode. It's annoying when I'm trying trying to show only one near the end for educational purposes.
