This is the top dog of my guitars. I have a 60s strat, schecter c-1 FRS , PRS SE Paul Allender signature. I personally like EMGs and didnt get fooled by the misconception from people who are so eager to have an biased opinion. The 89s sound incredible its not one of those "oh thats so obvious its an active pick up" , on top of that you can coil split which creates a whole new library of tones. This is the first guitar I have owned that has an ebony fingerboard , for people who haven't played much with an ebony fretboard ; its basically feels like one of those old fender lacquered maple fingerboard none of that tone, it gives you a warmer deeper tone than a maple wood but not as straight forward as a rosewood fingerboard. The whole body resonates from head to toe equally. This isnt a jack of all trades but an ace of all trades. Only had one issue I had was to raise the action a bit once i recieved it out of the package and some new 10-52 NYXLs and oh lord.. This is one of those guitars that makes me want to play and play a certain way,
ps. tip to the other owners of this beast, you can actually play this like you would a V when sitting down wedging the pointy part of the tail to your right thigh :P

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

wow
I own this guitar and this body style is the most gorgeous ever, in a wicked sort of way. set in neck, ebony fretboard, translucent purple flametop sunburst... are you kidding me? Ben is absolutely right, this is the best guitar in the world, and yeah, my intonation was set perfectly too, absolutely spot on from top to bottom. I've had lots of double locking tremolo guitars, mostly all Floyd Rose (cause I hate tuning), but this guitar just stays in tune, better than any guitar I've ever had. I literally tune it once and that's it till the next string change. I just smile and am amazed each time I check tuning :)what else lesser-known things....the wiring compartment is impeccable, neat, shielded and solderless and the wiring is all EMG.there's a separate compartment for the battery, you won't need a screwdriver and you won't need access to the electronics cavity.gotoh tuners... I'd read that, but it didn't register on me till I had it in my hands, these are locking tuners! good stuff... I'd always assumed that since I'm playing a double locking tremolo system, I didn't need or want locking tuners. If nothing else it makes changing of strings really easy, and it might actually account for some of the stable tuning, and the added mass of the extra weight of locking tuners is awesome for sustain! and best of all the weight is right there on the headstock! brilliant. I've since added locking tuners to my other electrics... tho honestly, I don't play them much anymore. ok, at all.I'm attaching a picture of a custom truss rod cover I had made.this is pure guitar porn

- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2020My boyfriend absolutely loved this guitar. It definitely my favorite of his and looks great when it’s on the wall (which it isn’t for long because he’s always playing it). Great look and feel.
