How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I tell you what. I did not expect it to go that direction. Does some of it seem weird like it being fair Torga can bring his might to bare like that and such? Maybe not, but dang I loved the book regardless. And his sarcasm gets me all the time. Maybe make him and the wife a little more love though. They seemed so at odds. Not what I expect from love that deep. Either way, you're great and the book was great in my opinion.

I wasn't able to make it half-way through this book. The author took everything from the first 3 books and threw it out. Spoilers ahead.
This should have been the start of a new series, nothing from the original 3 books except the MC and his wife make a return. What should have been an awesome fight and character arc as Torga takes on multiple pantheons and unravels the conspiracy against him is instead a single disappointing chapter. All the plot lines, world building, and character growth? Tonga kills everything. In a paragraph. Destroys the entire universe. In. A. Paragraph. And then the book turns into a dungeon builder.

All I can say is I am done with this author.

Our beloved Torga has to start from scratch again. Nothing like dropping your hero down a well and making them climb it again. It's even better when it's a new well--that's impossibly deep and incredibly more dangerous. Upmarket anxiously waiting to read more of torga's adventures.

Pretty great continuation off the previous, the idea of a “reset” kind of worked perfectly for an already maxed-out main character. Bit at a loss how the reset actually worked though, I remember bits and pieces saying he lost his aura and the main divine mojo upon expending it to put his wife in the new tree, and then he starts from scratch as a little snake again. So how come he had his original all-consuming power at the end again? What’s the point of the new stats if they don’t actually limit his new form? Does it only apply to his realm? Certainly doesn’t seem like it, he did his little green-nebula-gaseous-light form before popping on over to wipe out the funky centaur douche.

All in all I really love this series so far, keep em coming big man. Looking forward to learn more about who the bird bro is and the squirrel folks. Cheers!

The direction this story took was left field but in a good way and i enjoyed it because of that, there were so many people in the other books that by the time this one came out i forgot most of them but now its easier. Great story and the author did a wonderful job building it up

Fourth installment is a sudden change in the story yet also answers many questions about the underlining questions of Torga and his destiny.
A complete change in type of story like this is risky but it really paid off in this case.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but...

It was a good read, but it seems like it could have been a standalone series with how little this book had to do with the rest of the series. The entire genre of the book shifted essentially, let alone the fact most all world development and character development was rendered completely irrelevant.

One thing that I disliked was a very confusing series of visitors that I'm sure will have relevance at some point, but at the time was just a purely confusing series of dialogues. That part was honestly hard to read.

Overall an enjoyable read, but do note it essentially becomes a dungeon core novel. Which is a large shift from the original story.

1.0 out of 5 stars "A Snake's Rule" throws away everything it build upon and starts a dungeon manager.

With pain I requested a refund for this book. I am not sure what Kenneth planned, but throwing away the near epic build-up of the first three books to start a dungeon manager? That came as a total shock and completely changed what, to me, the story felt about.

Might've been better if, like what happens in this 4th installment, Torga would just've erased/eaten Yggdrasil at the end of book 3 and have that be the end of his story.

That, I think, would have been a more gratifying ending: one where his wife was killed and, having nothing to 'live for' anymore, become the true Nidhogg from the legends and exact total revenge upon on the gods.

Either way, I will not continue reading this series. For whomever reads this review, if you don't like dungeon management, this 4th book isn't for you. A shame that it leaves book 3 with an unfinished ending, though.

Since Torga is so powerful at this point, taking the time to let him build something up with his wife was a good idea. This particular book had some dungeon core vibes if your into that, and the introduction of a couple of interesting characters. Looking forward to finishing this series.
